Once you get to WRAIR...

Park on the west side of WRAIR Building along Stephen Sitter Avenue behind the bus stop.

Walk to Bldg. 503.

The WRAIR main entrance is a secured door unlocked by the Security Officer at the front desk. Please bring an identification card with you at all times. Military or Drivers Licenses are preferred.

The Clinical Trials Center is located on the 2nd floor, Room 2W78.
Take the west side elevator and follow the signs to Clinical Trials.

Driving Directions to WRAIR

From Downtown Washington:

  • Take either 16th St or Georgia Ave north.
  • Turn LEFT on to Second Ave.
  • Turn LEFT on to Linden Lane (stay in the left lane).
  • Turn LEFT on to Brookeville Road (past Railroad Bridge, WRAIR bldg on right with blue and yellow trim)
  • Turn RIGHT on to Stephen Sitter Avenue, go to guarded entrance and present ID.
  • The WRAIR building is located on your right
    along Robert Grant Avenue.
  • Parking is on your left behind the bus stop.

From the Washington Beltway (Interstate 495):

  • Exit 31, Georgia Avenue south (towards D.C.).
  • Turn RIGHT on to Seminary Road (not Seminary Place, 2nd light)
  • Turn LEFT on to Brookeville Road
    (past Railroad Bridge, WRAIR bldg on right with blue/yellow trim)
  • Turn RIGHT on to Stephen Sitter Avenue.
  • The WRAIR building is located on your right
    along Robert Grant Avenue.
  • Parking is on your left behind the bus stop.

From the Virginia Beltway:

  • Take 495 north towards Baltimore to Silver Spring Exit 31B, Georgia Avenue south (toward D.C.).
  • Turn RIGHT on to Seminary Road (not Seminary Place)
  • Turn LEFT on to Brookeville Road
    (pass railroad bridge, WRAIR bldg on right with blue/yellow trim)
  • Turn RIGHT on to Stephen Sitter Avenue.
  • The WRAIR building is located on your right along Robert Grant Avenue.
  • Parking is on your left behind the bus stop.

Nearest station is the Silver Spring METRO Station on the Red Line.

Please Note:
Route #4 will be operating on a modified route between April 24, 2006 and July 2006. Due to construction, Linden Lane between Steven Sitter Avenue and Newcastle Avenue, will be closed to traffic. During the construction, bus stops on the closed portion of Linden Lane will not be served.

From SILVER SPRING METRO STATION:

  • Take RIDE ON bus # 4 (sign reads "4 KENSINGTON")
  • Departs at 6:06am and every half hour thereafter
  • Stop at Walter Reed Annex at Forest Glen (between Stephen Sitter Ave and Robert Grant Ave)
  • Walter Reed Army Insitute of Research (WRAIR) is on the left.

OR

  • Take RIDE ON bus # 2 (sign reads "2 LYTTONSVILLE")
  • Departs at 7:02, 7:21, 7:38, 8:03 and 8:33am only
  • Stop at Walter Reed Annex at Forest Glen (between Stephen Sitter Ave and Robert Grant Ave)
  • Walter Reed Army Insitute of Research (WRAIR) is on the left.

 

From KENSINGTON (at Armory and Knowles):

  • Walking distance from MARC station
  • Take RIDE ON bus # 4 (sign reads "4 SILVER SPRING)
  • Departs at 6:26 am and every half hour thereafter
  • Stop at Walter Reed Annex at Forest Glen (between Stephen Sitter Ave and Robert Grant Ave)
  • Walter Reed Army Insitute of Research (WRAIR) is on the left.
